THE BEGINNING. . .

1998

One Spring day, upon driving the country roads of Carmi, Illinois for my first of many visits to come. . .Mark, introduced me to the most beautiful homesite I believe I have ever imagined and seen. It was a lovely rolling hilltop, with a pond to the south and two across a road to the north. The breezes were so refreshing and the view as panaramic as they were mesmerizing. My camera was ready to click, for this was the type of moment I had all too often let get away. And now, this was what I had come to believe life was to be. . . what it truly was to come to mean to me. Moments you knew would change your life if you let them.

The Process - 1999 to 2001

Over the next two years Mark's 'Dream Home' took life. Hours, Days and Weeks at a time we would sit and place on paper what was held in both our hearts. 'The Process' as we later came to call it was not only used to build our home but, ourselves and so our relationship. God's hand guided our hands and His timing became our timing. We came to realize He is the Creator of Land's End and we are its greatful steward. And hence, Deuteronomy 8:10 was branded on His ground. 'When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.' May we always be found worthy to Praise Him!

August 5, 2001

And so, on the sunniest day of that August we joined hands with Him and prayed.

August 5, 2001 - We Start!

And while 'The Process' seems to be underway. . . only those who witness the progress of each days events may ever know the true joy of what God intended us to learn.

August 15, 2001 -Rock Arrives

After digging the walkout basement. . . on to filling it in! . . .with rock for the slab.

November 9, 2001- 1st Pour

And a solid foundation. Mark, Dad and Jeff pour the West wing of the homes' walkout. . .to become the Celebrity room. Ms. Tiffy shall be housed here along with photos of every guest who visits, hung upon the walls.

December 5, 2001 - The Walls

And,the next phase. . . here Mark's poured walls, that he designed and 'built' forms for has taken shape. Alas, the floor has been completed. And, 'Up - Up and away'.

December 23, 2001 - The Trusses

The Floor Joists are delivered. A lovely Christmas Gift. And so we close 2001 with the closure of the basement.

December 31, 2001 - Happy New Year to Land's End and. . .

Happy Birthday to Mark, -January 1, 2001- !
